everyone STOP. ‘captain swan were enemies to lovers blah blah blah’ you don’t get it. Like yes knives to the throat is hot BUT it’s about killian and emma both meeting each other at their most selfish! It’s about them at their worst, their most defensive, their walls the highest ! Its about the self-recognition ! the instant ability to see underneath those airs & be scared of the better person they might be and what that might mean for you. It’s about helping each other BE better despite that fear! despite killians fear of letting in love after milah & what it might mean if Emma’s walls came down enough to let something progress BUT STILL encouraging her to be more open, to be less scared of connection even IF she ends up with someone else and even IF it means letting go of milah. It’s despite Emma’s fear of love & the better person killian might be and how his efforts to work and improve himself and be less selfish might JUST let her try for love once more and that terrifies her but she STILL encourages him to be better! Its about knowing and SEEING the very worst and most selfish side of each other and still loving it because of all the work done in between their first meeting and now!!! Its about seeing the best parts in one another but still loving the worst all the same!
